Research to dispel myths about salaries

Ho Chi Minh City -- September 27, 2006 – Navigos Group has upgraded its Vietnam Salary Survey and launched the 2007 edition with new features to chart local characteristics of the Vietnamese labor market that have not been mapped before.

Vietnam Salary Survey 2007 will introduce a set of new survey features in order to capture critical differences in the local labor market, which have not been charted before. One of these issues is the difference in salaries that relate to the diverse backgrounds of professionals working in Vietnam. While there are many myths about how salaries differ between returning Viet-Kieus, locals that have an overseas education and those that have not, currently there is no factual overview. Now, Vietnam Salary Survey 2007 will dispel those myths.

Mr. Jonah Levey, Founder and CEO of Navigos Group says: “Vietnam Salary Survey is independent – it is not another franchised global survey. This enables Navigos Group to respond promptly to changes in the local labor market and adapt our reports and survey methods accordingly”. He notes: “This is important in the world’s second fastest growing economy. We could have chosen to franchise with one of the global providers, but Vietnam doesn’t need another standardized survey”.

In all aspects, Navigos Groups is determined to produce a customer driven survey that answers the many questions voiced from the local market. For that reason, Navigos Group has presented the outline of the survey to dozens of highly qualified HR managers and experts, and the feedback has helped shape the design of the survey. In this way, the final report of Vietnam Salary Survey 2007 will help companies operating in Vietnam to optimize their HR expenditures, while building and retaining a strong and motivated work force.

Navigos Group received massive attention in 2005 when it released its first salary report, which included salary data from more than 200 companies – thus making it the most comprehensive salary survey ever conducted in Vietnam. The event took place at the Legend Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and attracted more than 400 company executives as well as extensive media awareness from both TV and newspapers. Navigos Group anticipates that the launch of the 2007 report, which is scheduled shortly after Tet, will attract similar high attention.

Until then, Navigos Group will stand ready to answer all related questions and welcomes all companies to register for participation at  www.navigosgroup.com/salary by offering special participant discounts on the final reports.
